WebViews allow the easy integration of websites, external apps, or intranets directly into the Student application. This option simplifies access for your learners to essential resources without having to leave the mobile app. With just a few clicks, you can provide your students with direct access to all the platforms necessary for their training.

This feature is available for clients who have WebViews. If you're interested, contact your preferred representative or send an email to hello@edusign.fr.

🖥️ Add a WebView

With WebViews, your learners can access external resources without leaving the Student application. Here’s how to easily add a WebView:

  • WebView Title: Provide a clear title for your WebView. This title will appear in the app to indicate to students which site or app it is.

  • The link: Add the URL link of your site, web app, intranet, or any other external resource. This link can point to any platform you wish to integrate.

Once this information is provided, your WebView will be added to the app transparently and accessibly for your students. 🤗

Note: If the site or application already has an icon (e.g., a favicon), it will be automatically retrieved and displayed to reinforce the visual identity and platform recognition by the students.

👁️‍🗨️ Preview in the Student app

Before finalizing the creation of your WebView, you have a dynamic preview. This allows you to see exactly how the WebView will look in the Student app, giving you the chance to make adjustments before publishing it.

The preview ensures that the display will be optimal for users and allows you to verify that the integration is seamless.

👀 Audience Visibility

Once the WebView is created, you can customize its visibility level based on the audience you wish to target. The available options are:

  • Authenticated Users: Only students logged in with their credentials will have access to the WebView.

  • All users (Premium): The WebView will be accessible to all users, whether they are authenticated or not. This option is ideal if you want to make a resource accessible to a wide audience.

  • Non-identified Users (Premium): In a white-label application, you can make the WebView visible to users who haven't yet created an account or authenticated. This allows for public access to certain resources.

Note: If you select the Authenticated Users option, you have the option to filter the audience by a specific group. This allows you to target specific user segments, such as groups of students from a certain cohort or a specific department. 😉

🌍 Use Case: Why Use WebViews?

WebViews offer a practical solution to centralize access to essential tools and resources without multiplying the apps on students' devices. For example:

  • Direct access to course platforms or discussion forums without leaving the application.

  • Consultation of administrative documents, exam schedules, or institution information directly from the app.

  • Connection to collaboration tools or partner applications used as part of your training.

The possibilities are numerous, and WebViews facilitate the integration of all these tools in a single, coherent space.

❓ FAQ - Answers to Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Q: What is a WebView?
A: A WebView allows integration of a webpage or external application directly into the Student application, offering smooth access to these resources without having to leave the app.

  2. Q: Can I use a WebView for any website?
A: Yes, as long as the site or application you want to integrate is accessible via a public URL. This includes intranets or web applications accessible remotely.

  3. Q: Can I customize the icon of my WebView?
A: If the site you add has an icon (such as a favicon), it will be automatically displayed. If the icon does not exist, you can add one manually if necessary.

  4. Q: How do I manage the audience of my WebView?
A: You can set the visibility of your WebView based on authenticated users, non-identified users, or a public audience. Moreover, you can filter this audience by user groups for even more precise customization.

  5. Q: What happens if the site integrated into a WebView requires authentication?
A: If the site you add to your WebView requires authentication (e.g., a username and password), the session will be maintained in the application as long as it is valid. This means users won’t have to re-login every time they access the WebView as long as their session remains active on the integrated site. If the session expires, they will need to re-authenticate through the WebView to continue using the site.

WebViews are a powerful feature to provide your learners direct access to essential external resources while maintaining integration within the Student app. Thanks to simple configuration, real-time preview, and advanced customization options, you can enhance the student experience and simplify navigation between the various tools necessary for their journey.
