1️⃣ What is SSO CAS? Why use it?

The SSO CAS (Central Authentication Service) is a single authentication protocol that allows your users (students, professors, administrators) to log in only once to access all Edusign platforms.

✅ Benefits for your institution:

  • Simplified user experience: no need to remember multiple passwords.

  • Enhanced security: centralized management of connections.

  • Time savings for users and IT teams.

Edusign supports SSO CAS integration to easily connect your existing authentication system to our platform.

ℹ️ Important: Implementing SSO CAS requires the intervention of our technical team.

⚠️ CAS 1.0 not supported: Our SSO requires CAS 2.0 minimum for retrieving user attributes (email, first name, last name). The CAS 1.0 protocol, limited to authentication validation, is not compatible.

2️⃣ How to activate SSO CAS on Edusign?

Here are the steps to follow for us to activate SSO CAS for your institution:

📩 Step 1 – Contact your Edusign representative

Write to your main contact at Edusign, or to support@edusign.fr with the subject "SSO CAS Activation Request".

📄 Step 2 – Provide us with the following information:

  • casClientUrl: Main entry URL of the CAS server used for redirecting users during login.

  • webCasClientUrl: Web entry point of the CAS client used on the Edusign side to generate redirection links. Sometimes the same as casClientUrl, depending on your CAS configuration.

  • webValidationService: URL of the CAS ticket validation service. It is used by Edusign to verify that the user is properly authenticated.

These elements allow our system to communicate with your CAS server.

🔐 Step 3 – Authorize Edusign URLs on your CAS server

You must declare the following URLs as authorized services in your CAS configuration:

🛠️ Example of a service to authorize:
"serviceId": "^https://edusign.app/school/.*"

Once all information is in place and communicated, our team will proceed to activate the SSO for your account 🚀

3️⃣ How do your users connect with SSO CAS?

Steps for user login:

  1. On the School, Professor, or Student platforms, enter your institutional email.

  2. The application detects your SSO and you can click on "Connect via <your institution>"

  3. You are redirected to your CAS login interface.

  4. Once authenticated, you access Edusign without additional password entry ✅

Your colleagues have the choice to go through your single authentication portal or use their Edusign password. 😉

Alternatively, you can also:

  1. On the School, Professor, or Student platforms, click on:
    “Use single sign-on (SSO)”

  2. Enter your domain (for example my-institution.fr).

  3. You are automatically redirected to your CAS login interface.

  4. Once authenticated, you access Edusign
