Hyperplanning - Annual schedule change

Written by Lucas Minarro-Rey

1️⃣ Changing the schedule on Edusign

Every year, you must recreate a schedule on HP for the upcoming year. This schedule must be linked to a new Edusign account each year to ensure data quality in the event of a review.

Changing the schedule with a connector is not trivial and must be planned ahead. The connector must be:

  • 'Disconnected' from the old schedule after the last class day of the year.

  • 'Reconnected' to the new schedule before August 15th each year.

There are two ways to set up the connector with Hyperplanning:

  • Either you manage your Hyperplanning Webservice yourself, and thus it is up to you to change (disconnect/reconnect) the webservice on the new schedule.

  • Or Edusign has set up the Hyperplanning Webservice server for you. In this case, you simply need to provide us the name of the new schedule.

In both cases, to avoid any side effects, the implementation of the new account connected to the new schedule must be validated.

2️⃣ Essential: Validate the schedule change

It is essential to ensure that the new Hyperplanning schedule is properly linked to its new Edusign account. The validation of the schedule change must be completed each year before August 15th. Every year, in May, the Hyperplanning manager is contacted by Edusign teams to learn:

  • The date of the last day of schedule N

  • The date of the first class of schedule N+1

It is also required to create a fictitious class associated with an professor and a student. This fictitious class allows validation of the proper implementation of the connector on each Edusign account. This step is coordinated with your Account Manager.
