1️⃣ You are using Edusign without connection to internal software (standard use).

Sometimes, duplicates of students, instructors, or groups may slip into your Edusign account. Simple human error, there are solutions.
The merging of duplicates as such is not possible on Edusign. Nevertheless, it is highly recommended to archive your student, instructor, or group. This will have no impact on attendance sheets, documents, or questionnaires related to them. Indeed, deletion on Edusign is like archiving, allowing you to retain the data of the concerned elements.
To do this, we recommend archiving the element that is no longer involved in upcoming courses but was in the past. Therefore, you will keep the element that is scheduled for upcoming courses to avoid any confusion.
Note: if you have archived an element by mistake, you can unarchive your students, instructors, or groups from the Archived sub-tab of the concerned menu.
2️⃣ Your business software is connected to Edusign.
If an item was created manually on Edusign while you're using a connector, it is very likely to appear as a duplicate on Edusign. It is then strongly recommended to archive the students or instructors not created by API (your connector).

To distinguish manually created items from those created automatically, you can click on the small gear icon at the top right of the list of your students or instructors to display the API ID column. Manually created items will not be associated with an API ID (the field will be empty), as opposed to those created automatically.
In the example below, all instructors were created via API, and therefore, they are the items to keep.
