🌐 A need expressed by several institutions

Some institutions want to enhance the reliability of remote signatures and prevent non-compliant uses, such as attempts to sign outside the campus by distributing the QR code to others.

To achieve this goal, we have designed a simple and effective feature: the restriction of signing to connections from the institution.

💡 How IP restriction works

This feature allows an institution to define one or more authorized public IP addresses. When enabled, only students on your school's internal network can sign an attendance sheet via Edusign.

🔧 Institution-side configuration

From the administrator platform:

  • Activation is done with one click:

    • From the institution platform:

      1. Access:
Settings > Organization Information > Authorized Public IP Addresses

      2. Enter the authorized public IP addresses:

        • You may enter:

          • unique IP addresses (e.g. : ***.***.*.*)

      3. Field label:
        Authorized Public IP Addresses

  • It is possible to enter one or more authorized IP addresses.

An explicit message is shown to the student if the signing attempt is made outside the defined perimeter:

"The signature failed. Please connect to the institution's WiFi network and try again."

🎯 Objective and benefits

  • Enhance the reliability of signatures by limiting unauthorized use.
